M.O.V.E. stands for “Men of Valor and Excellence”. It is what God called the Judge by the name of Gideon who thought he could not make a difference in his nation. Ultimately, God used him in a mighty way with less people.
The M.O.V.E. Ministry is a laid back meeting that is held once a month, the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Mt. Nebo Complex (1634 7th St, Madison, IL). Check the calendar for changes in dates/times.
M.O.V.E. is for men from all communities; non-church and church goers alike. We are men who desire to be better and do better; speaking positive things into the atmosphere.
We dress casual (some brothers come straight from work in uniforms). We always have food and fellowship. The purpose of this ministry is for men to strengthen men in the issues of life that we all face. The more we come the more we realize that we have more in common and if you are going through a situation there is usually someone there that has gone through it, is presently going through, or will be going through it soon.
We always have a format but we always make sure we don’t need to address something that is lying heavy on a brother before we get started. This monthly meeting only has 3 rules:
1.We must keep encouraging each other to become the best men God has called us to be.
2.We must always keep it real! This is usually where you find a lot of our humor, because all of our titles are left in the car and are just a group of united brothers, telling it the way it is.
3.We must keep it confidential. The last rules is the reason why we can be healed in this Ministry because it allows us to talk about our concerns without a feeling of being judged, criticized or it used against us.
This Ministry is for all men, all ages, all backgrounds, all struggles, and all personalities. If you are quiet and laid back—there is no pressure to speak just come to eat and listen.
